A Pyongyang Home Companion
No.3 : How to Receive
a Postcard from North
Korea

Koryo Tours' 'postcard for a postcard' project

The humble postcard has been sent by people since postal services have been in existence. It’s a special souvenir featuring unique images or artwork from a far away land sent by someone saying hello, and is one piece of mail the digital age has not managed to kill off. The delight of receiving one can’t be replaced knowing that someone went to all that effort to send it to you and it’s been through its own unique journey just to get to your home.

Here at Koryo Tours we regularly receive requests from people the world over politely asking to have a postcard sent from our adventures in North Korea. The reasons vary, but usually it’s from postcard collectors, school students or someone just wanting something unique to add to their fridge artwork collection.

While the delivery time can be slow (the last lot the author sent took 6 weeks), we always aim to send them as we believe every one we send makes the world just that slightly better connected.

So to you, we are going to propose a deal – if you send us a postcard to our office in Beijing from your part of the world, then we will return the favor and send you one from North Korea.

It’s Koryo Tour’s 'postcard for a postcard' because we all love receiving postcards!

Please ensure to include your address so that we know where to send one back to you. You will also need to be patient with receiving yours as it does take time. Unfortunately we’re unable to send any to South Korea.
